This week was interesting to say the least. It was the first week after the summer vacations and it was difficult to get inside the right mindset and it was tiring at the first to get inside the rooting again.
The project is about being able to make images out if a quote of our choosing.
AS you see I didn’t know how to start so I started by writing them down and making crude looking sketches of what the words meant to me.
I choose J.K. Rowling quote as my family is a super-fans of her work and I know something about her life.
As I got no clue what to do, I begun to experiment, the ones above are tries made by using Posca pen as I am not familiar with them
The next two experiments are in complete Sketches as I kept writing them wrong. I was cooping them from a picture on my phone and I just kept skipping lines and most likely making spelling mistakes in them. I tried to write as the voice inside my head even if it isn’t much of an explanation for the disaster of this exercise.
As this is truly how her voice sounds like for me, I tried to make Italics lettering and I truly like how it felt and looked like for the metal bit there it is my first-time using wire this way and I truly liked it, so I decided to explore it more.
I cannot say this is actually research but I wanted to know all the list of her work to have some kind of Inspiration.
I looked up the text where the quote was from and it added another reason why I choose this quote: I am not English, but I truly love staying here even if I am here only six years, I call London my home.
Knowing that the quote is from a news paper I decided to do a collage. I truly despised this as it took me one morning to complete and it is not as exciting and out of my comfort zone as I wanted it to be. I didn’t like it basically and I ended up with sticky hands who wouldn’t come clean.
Ok this two are a mess, I wanted to use posca as it was satisfying to use but it is still boring. The second is about how my head is a total mess most of the time, so it is all bundled up.
To be truthful I done this one more for myself that anything else.
Ideas flooded in and I wrote this as I wanted to experiment with the writing with metal, I thought it would been nice to have it done this way.
