This week I focused my energies on looking at my audiences, and what people would like to buy for a Graduation Card.
I asked my mum, dad, and sister to take a look through Amazon and select two greeting cards: one that they would buy for someone else and the other for themselves. With these findings I concluded that people would buy:
The Serious ones: the majority
The serious but colourful (Whimsical): in between
The Joke ones: the minority
Considering the result of this research, I decided to create three different greeting cards and perhaps create a questionaire to help me decide what would work best.
To create these cards I had to combine Krita with Photoshop, my reasoning is that I like Krita’s brushes a lot more than the one in use on Photoshop, but the typing is better organized on the latter.
The serious one:
These are just sketching I came up to quickly create images, I wanted to follow the ‘classic’ watercolour that UK Greetings has but make it my own.
The Colourful one (Whimsical)
This was created following the idea of ‘hibernation’ I had at the start of the project, but it is a long shot, I do not think this card is working as much as the other two.
The joke one:
What is next?
I believe my next step is to send the greeting cards in a form of questionnaire and wait for a response.
