As the theme requested, this art piece is about 'escapism'. I am very familiar with escaping through art as it is a coping mechanism that not only manifested in the lockdown happening throughout the world but as an escape from the reality of my anxiety. That is what the circles are: portals where my imagination solidifies. The light circle design in the middle represents what I feel when I wander through my head. The person in the middle is a form of the Fool from the major arcana in tarot cards, as sometimes it feels like I am blindly following my dreams and getting lost in them. The gryphon takes the place of the dog that usually appears with The Fool. The grey areas are the feeling of anxiety that colour the real world. Finally, the backdrop is a night sky, as I am a night owl. I believe all this, put together, should be a relatable experience for many.
